Monthly coaching Cycles
We know how difficult it can be to successfully run your own business, we know lots of businesses realise they could benefit from a trusted adviser, a critical friend or a just someone to talk through the ideas, the pressures and frustrations and the opportunities that come with running your own venture. Our way of working aims to help with all of these.
We agree a small monthly fee with you at the start, this is a commitment to work together, we don’t tie you in to any fixed term as we know that sometimes coaching comes to a natural conclusion and we don’t think it is right to keep on taking money without adding value.
Through our experience and feedback from clients we know that we can and do justify our cost each and every month – we want you to get great value for the money you are investing in your business and your future.
Each month we book time in the diary for us to hold a Board meeting with you. This normally lasts an hour and focusses on the finances of the business. What is the income, what are the costs and most importantly how much profit are we making and where are we heading? We like to set some short term goals for profitability to focus the attention, on what we can do in the month and quarter ahead.
This discussion generally raises lots of issues, we then work with you to agree the priorities and unlike some Mentors, Chairpersons or NEDs we then take a share of the actions for the month ahead to help move the business forward. We do this because we understand that there are times when as the owner you have to go back to working in the business and fighting the fires that sometimes flare up. If that happens we will aim to still move some of the issues forward each and every month. Typically we will spend another 2 hours of time helping to address our actions.
At the next Board meeting we review the progress that has been made, and reprioritise, for the month ahead adding new actions as the business evolves and develops.
We work in partnership with you, taking joint responsibility for moving the business forward, we aim to be part of your leadership team not only guiding but doing.

There are times with the best will in the world our 3 hour contract with you is just not enough time to move forward the bigger issues that businesses sometimes face and as we get to understand your business and your people you might want us to work with you for more time on addressing those things too.
We have seen the owners of businesses getting really frustrated because they know there is a task they really want to complete but they never have time to quite get to it.
This is where we can help, we offer a day rate of £400 to £500 for projects and consultancy. Our research shows this is a very competitive rate, typically we see consultants charging twice this and more! Like our monthly coaching rates we want to make our services available to the many who can see the need and not just those with large budgets
Recent examples of projects we have undertaken include, market research work, sales training, defining a client treatment strategy for a growing business, a very detailed review of costs and then negotiations with some of the companies creating those costs!, complete reorganisation of the marketing and social media policy for a business( with external partners) coaching in a staff disciplinary and helping with recruitment interviews and helping with medium and long term planning for exit/sale to name just a few.
Undertaking this work really helps us get close to the business with the aim of really improving the bigger issues that we sometimes uncover in the monthly discussions.
We don’t profess to be the experts in all things in business. We see ourselves more as GPs, we can identify and guide on many things but sometimes it is important to deal with a subject matter expert
